香港で活動するフードフォトグラファー
1980年代に香港で生まれ育ちました。自学が趣味で、独学で日本語を習得した後、４つの言語を駆使して雑誌社に入り、記者と編集者として働きました。
その後、模索期間を経て、スタジオライティング、通訳、翻訳、デザイン、そして写真撮影など、さまざまな分野の仕事を経験しました。そして最終的にフードフォトグラフィーをメインの事業として選びました。
多様なスキルの組み合わせにより、「カメラマン、デザイナー、翻訳者、インタビュアー」を兼ね備えた存在になり、一人で飲食業界のメニューデザインを完結できるワークフローを確立しました。
フード撮影の経験は10年以上、撮影したレストランの数は1000軒を超えます。自称「アーティストではない、クライアントのニーズを見極め、それを満たすフォトグラファー兼デザイナー」です。
Hello! I’m Tora, a passionate food photographer from the vibrant city of Hong Kong. Born and raised in the 1980s, I have always been curious and eager to learn new things. My love for self-study led me to master Japanese on my own, and my multilingual skills in four languages helped me land a job at a magazine as both a reporter and an editor.
During my career, I explored various fields such as studio lighting, interpreting, translating, designing, and photography. It was through this journey of discovery that I found my true calling in food photography, and I decided to make it my main focus.
Combining my diverse skills, I’ve become a unique professional who can handle multiple roles simultaneously. I’m not just a photographer; I’m also a designer, translator, and interviewer. This versatility allows me to manage the entire workflow of menu design in the food industry single-handedly.
With over ten years of experience in food photography and more than 1,000 restaurants captured through my lens, I’ve come to realize that my job is not just about creating beautiful images. I pride myself on understanding my client’s needs and delivering results that satisfy them. I don’t consider myself an artist; instead, I see myself as a dedicated professional who brings clients’ visions to life through photography and design.
