This technique, or method, refers to holding the camera at eye level while standing so that the subject is at the same height as your eyes and camera. This approach results in balanced and realistic photos.

For example, when capturing beverages, try using eye-level shots to showcase the drink’s layers, colors, and textures. Additionally, if you lower the angle slightly and use a wide-angle lens, you can make the drink appear “super-sized!”

I often use this technique to meet clients’ requests, especially when photographing “super-sized, value-packed beverages.”

Similarly, when photographing burgers, eye-level shots can highlight the delicious layers of the bun, meat, and toppings (you’ll notice this technique is commonly used in fast-food ads).

Don’t hesitate to try different angles, such as lowering or raising the camera, to add depth and variety to your photos. Capture multiple shots and find the most visually appealing composition.
